Carbon market

According to the domestic carbon market roadmap, it will be piloted from 2025 and officially operational from 2028. The early implementation of this market brings many benefits to businesses as well as making an important contribution to the development and protection of forests; with the goal of proactively adapting trade policy to the international environment, at the same time moving towards a low-carbon economy.

ESG Vietnam (ESG) will provide consulting information to businesses, organizations and individuals in Vietnam about how to build carbon credit projects, how to register, verify, confirm and exchange, compensate, and borrow credit mechanisms for carbon credits and apply carbon taxes regionally and globally.

Building a carbon market is key, and a built carbon market will contribute to achieving the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. at low cost to business and society, promoting the development of low emission technology.

What is carbon credit?

Carbon credits are the general term for tradable credits or permits that represent 1 ton of carbon dioxide (CO₂) or the mass of another greenhouse gas equivalent to 1 ton of CO₂. Trading CO₂ emissions or carbon trading on the market is done through credits.
Under the Kyoto Protocol, countries with excess emissions rights can sell to or buy from countries that emit more or less than their committed target. Since then, a new type of commodity has appeared in the world, namely certificates for reducing/absorbing greenhouse gas emissions. Because carbon is the equivalent greenhouse gas of all greenhouse gases, transactions are collectively called carbon trading and exchange, forming the carbon market or carbon credit market.
